 Volunteer Area Overview

This page will give you information on several other volunteer positions around the Aquarium.

DO: Guest Guide - Dive Immersion - Guest Guide volunteers for the Dive Immersion department greet guests arriving for the program, assist with guest check-in and guide family/friends of the divers & swimmers to the tunnel and big window in Ocean Voyager to take photos.

Waiting to check in DIP Participants 

Prerequisites:

  • Training - 101: Orientation
  • Availability to work 2:30 - 7:30 (or Weekends 10:30 - 1:30)
  • Training - 230: Ocean Voyager Training
  • Training - 231: Dive Immersion Training
  • Completed 3 shifts in Ocean Voyager
  • Taken a Behind-the-Scenes Tour with Guest Programs

 

 

Plant & Engineering - Plant & Engineering volunteers assist with the maintenance and facilities management of the Aquarium.  This includes making daily rounds and fixing needed items.

Prerequisites:

  • Training - 101: Orientation
  • On-the-job training with Plant & Engineering Department

Life Support Operations - Life Support Operations volunteers assist LSS maintenance staff with making salt water and maintaining the pipes and wires that support the exhibits.

Prerequisites:

  • Training - 101: Orientation
  • Engineering background preferred
  • On-the-job training with the Life Support Operations Department
