Policy Reminders:

CANCELING A SHIFT: Please be sure to let someone at the Aquarium know if you cannot make your shift. Managers are depending on you when they fill out their daily schedule, so if you don’t show up, you are letting a lot of people down. • Canceling more than 48 hours in advance: remove yourself in the VIC (click “remove me”). • Canceling less than 48 hours: call the department in which you are scheduled (if no answer, leave a voice mail). Also call if you are running late. Telephone numbers are listed in the column to the left.

Volunteers that are a “No-Show, No-Call” more than twice, may be barred from volunteering again in that department.

Cellphones CELL PHONES: Staff and Volunteers may not use of cell phones in the public areas of the Aquarium during operating hours. If you must make a call, please step into one of the break rooms. Also, as a courtesy, please be sure that your phone is in the silent mode while you are on duty.

GumGUM CHEWING: While engaging guests, please refrain from chewing gum.

Stories, Suggestions & Compliments!

Attention Volunteers! Do you have a great story about something that happened to you or a guest while at the Aquarium? Do you have an idea of how we could strengthen the guest or volunteer experience?  Would you like to brag about a staff member or fellow volunteer’s performance? Or do you just love the newest Aquarium exhibit, program or benefit?

Then, we want to hear from you!   You can share your stories, suggestions and compliments with us in one of two ways:

  1. Stop by the Volunteer Office or Training Center & fill out a Stories, Suggestions & Compliments form.  (You may remain anonymous if you prefer.)

Please note that due to the volume of feedback the Aquarium receives from Team Members as well as logistics, costs, and other concerns, we will not be able to respond to or implement every suggestion we receive. We will pass on your feedback to the appropriate departments & team members so that they may recognize staff/volunteer efforts, address recurring concerns, implement doable ideas, and share Aquarium experiences, perhaps even with the media!

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
